With the concept of "beautiful tools," 10 eyevan has, since its inception, released only models that have pursued materials and designs that meet aesthetic sensibilities, alongside their functionality as tools. The III CELLULOID no.1 FR 1035BKGG, which we previously introduced, was an unparalleled offering from 10 eyevan, a special model made with uncompromising use of the highest quality materials for all its parts. Now, a model with a different lens shape is in stock.
The rivets that secure the hinges to the frame body are made of K18YG. To achieve sufficient strength, they are thicker than those used in regular collections, and the parts themselves were redesigned, we are told. K18YG is also used for the end tips of the temples. As parts that also play a role in adjusting the weight balance of the spectacles, it goes without saying that K18YG, with its higher specific gravity, is suitable.
The frame material is deadstock celluloid. Previously, 10 eyevan frames have used deadstock celluloid or celluloid aged for a long period, similar to deadstock.
However, black deadstock is an exceptional case. Colors like black are in high demand as a material, so it's extremely rare for them to remain as deadstock, and they are not easily chosen as a material for spectacles. This special black has been assigned a new color number, different from previous black colors.

Additionally, genuine tortoiseshell is used for the nose pads. Tortoiseshell, one of the highest quality materials for eyewear, is characterized by its unique shading and transparency, which no other material possesses, and its high affinity with the skin as a material that touches the body. In terms of the "exaltation of the material when viewed or touched by hand or skin" that the designer often mentions, there is perhaps no better material.
Both the previous and current models were created primarily because the designer himself desired them, so they are not widely available in stores. Even optical shops that carry them often stock them because the owner wants them for themselves, rather than to display them for sale.
However, at AFTER, we have ample stock of these models, just as we did with the previous model, which was popular among many customers. This is the ultimate in understated quality, achieved by pursuing refinement without resorting to ostentation. Please give them a try.
