Tropical DAYTONA
This is a 1969 manual-wind DAYTONA Ref. 6239.
The "DAYTONA" designation is arched above the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, making this a late-production design for a 6239.
Despite its 37mm case size, the stainless steel bezel makes it appear slightly smaller compared to the 6263 and 6241, which is why this reference has garnered significant attention in recent years.
This particular piece features a tropical dial, where the sub-dials have elegantly turned brown.
Its very natural aging is recommended for those who dislike overly bright dials.
While the luminous material on DAYTONAs tends to fall off easily, this example miraculously retains all of its luminous material.
When exposed to black light, the hands exhibit the same luminous reaction, suggesting they are original tritium from that period.
The bracelet is a SWISS Jubilee with FF74, which is considered to be for DAYTONA models.
Manual-wind Daytonas emphasize condition and authenticity, and this one is tropical to boot.
Please consider it soon.
