Amazing Tropical Explorer

This is a Ref. 1016 Explorer 1 that has aged beautifully.

Although it shows wear, the luster of the gilt dial remains strong and has uniformly turned tropical.

It's rare to find a watch that has tropicalized to this extent.

This particular piece, manufactured in 1967, features a Mk6 dial, which is the last gilt dial before the transition to matte dials, and is considered the most lustrous of the gilt dials.

The bracelet is a Swiss Jubilee, also from '67, matching the watch itself.
