EYEVAN 7285 349

In the early 2000s, just as I was entering the industry, there was a popular eyewear brand called SPIVVY. Their frames, characterized by sharply defined edges, truly marked an era. However, such frames with prominent edges are not always common. The reason lies in a polishing process called "tumbling." In this process, frames are agitated in a cylindrical barrel with various materials and abrasives, which usually causes the frame edges to become somewhat rounded.

However, the EYEVAN 7285 model 349, which we are introducing today, features those uncommon sharp edges, making it a somewhat unique model within the EYEVAN 7285 collection. By minimizing the tumbling process, each frame is polished by hand by artisans for more than five times the usual duration, resulting in a sharpness that feels almost out of place for modern eyewear.

Since its production requires high skill and immense effort, EYEVAN sought out a new factory specifically for the production of these frames. Furthermore, the number of frames that can be produced at one time is significantly smaller than usual, and even those are delivered in multiple irregular batches. It is under these circumstances that AFTER has finally received them.

The greatest feature is these sharp edges. This detail reflects the brand's thorough commitment and challenging stance of not imposing any limitations, resulting in a product that would typically not emerge from modern production methods.

And this time, we particularly recommend the matte finish model. The texture, which involves an additional spraying process on an already labor-intensive frame, is remarkably uniform and, along with the sharp edges, further emphasizes the flat impression of the front. Moreover, due to its uniformity, at first glance, it might even appear simple and cheap, like an inexpensive resin sunglass.

However, contrary to its casual and unpretentious appearance, a look at the meticulously and thoroughly polished inside of the frame immediately reminds one that this is no ordinary pair of glasses.

EYEVAN7285 eyewear often incorporates impressive details on the inside of the frame, in areas that one only notices at the moment of picking up and putting on the glasses. The 349, which we are introducing, is no exception; it is finished as a piece that does not assert itself excessively, yet offers uncompromising craftsmanship to be enjoyed.

(Above) Both the polished and matte frames are meticulously finished, offering the pleasure of choosing according to one's preference.
(Below) The interior of the frame, with its rich luster, stands in stark contrast to the somewhat understated impression it gives when viewed from the front. This is a detail known only to those who pick up and wear the glasses.

It's truly impressive how EYEVAN7285's unique style is never lost, even while emphasizing the unparalleled sharp edges that are its most prominent feature.

The distinctive, somewhat languid lens shape is one of EYEVAN7285's characteristic features, immediately recognizable to those who know it.

Furthermore, the simple hinge structure, secured by only one pin, is typically found in vintage tortoiseshell frames. By expressing this with a 10K gold pin this time, the hinge remains an understated accent, yet subtly asserts that every detail has been specially crafted.

Currently, all colors of the sunglasses are in stock at the store, and all colors of the optical frames are expected to arrive soon. I thought this model was truly cool from the planning stage, so I purchased all colors. Please make a reservation to visit our store and try them on in person.
