Unique double name Flat Back
ASK
This is a Ref. 2765 Flatback with a hand-wound movement housed in a case identical to the "Bubble Back" produced in the early 1940s.
This is a rare double-signed model featuring the name of "H.G. Bell," an authorized ROLEX dealer located in Salisbury, England, in 1940.
This dial, known overseas as an "error-proof dial" or "California dial," is highly popular.
The dial, with its distinctive and unique balance of Roman numerals on the upper half and Arabic numerals on the lower half, gained popularity, and black dials, in particular, are extremely rare.
Both the lettering and the circle are engraved gilt dials, making it a very elaborate dial.
While it's a compact Flatback, this particular one features a rare original Big Crown (big winding crown) that is often found on first models, giving it the feel of a miniaturized Ref. 6538 BOND Submariner.
The bracelet is an original Swiss-made rivet bracelet from the same era, and many people would likely desire this bracelet alone.
A black unique dial, especially a double-signed one, is not something that appears frequently.
