Patek Philippe baby Calatrava
This is the Ref. 437 Baby Calatrava, a model that inherited the lineage of the Ref. 96 (Kunroku), a representative model of vintage Patek.
The form created by the combination of the flowing case line from the lugs to the case and the flat, wide bezel is called the Calatrava case, and the Ref. 437, with its 28mm case that is 2mm smaller than the Ref. 96, belongs to this lineage.
Perhaps due to the flat bezel, it feels larger than 28mm when worn.
This watch features an incredibly clean dial for a 1945 model, with the original enamel and the accent mark (é) above the E in GENEVE beautifully preserved.
The bracelet is from Gay Frères, a supplier that manufactured bracelets for Patek Philippe and Rolex at the time.
An original stainless steel buckle is also included.
A rare stainless steel Calatrava among vintage Pateks.
Vintage Patek continues to soar in price.
