IV SIRMONT no.3 BR Sunglasses

The BR (Bold Rim) collection, previously only available for the celluloid-frame Series III in the 10 eyevan lineup, has now been added to the Series IV browline frames. These frames offer a unique presence thanks to the combination of different materials: celluloid and metal rims.

The metal wires supporting the lower half of the lenses, known as rims, are a signature component for 10 eyevan. While 10 eyevan typically uses 1.0mm thick rims, the BR collection features newly adopted 1.4mm rims to match their substantial volume. The bridge has also been made thicker to accommodate the overall rigidity of the frame.

Even more special are the "Shadow 3" sunglass lenses, introduced for the first time.

When asked which lenses he liked best among all those he had produced, the president of the Osaka-based glass manufacturer, founded in the 1940s and responsible for making lenses for EYEVAN 7285, pointed to none other than these Shadow 3 lenses.

These lenses, developed by Ray-Ban before G15, are said to possess optical properties that are exceptionally well-suited for the human eye. Despite numerous brands wanting to use these lenses, they were able to be reproduced with a 2-curve, double-sided multi-coating because, as the manufacturer stated, "We believe 10 eyevan makes the best glasses in the world."

Although the lenses appear green, when worn, the field of vision is not overly green-tinted. The double-sided multi-coating allows the eyes to be seen through the lenses from the outside, preventing an overly intimidating look, and results in a classic yet stylish finish.

The designer states that these special lenses, exclusive to 10 eyevan, will not be used in future EYEVAN 7285 models. In homage to the original, they will be part of the 10 eyevan lineup under the name "G3."
