IV SIRMONT no.1 BR Sunglasses

The BR (Bold Rim) collection, previously only available in the Series III celluloid frames within the 10 eyevan lineup, has now been added to the Series IV browline frames. These glasses offer a unique presence thanks to the combination of celluloid and metal rims, which are different materials.

The metal wire that supports the lower half of the lenses, known as the rim, is one of 10 eyevan's signature parts. While 10 eyevan typically uses a 1.0mm thickness, the BR collection features a new 1.4mm rim to match its substantial volume. The bridge has also been made thicker to accommodate the overall rigidity of the frame.

Even more special is the "Shadow 3" sunglass lens, which is being used for the first time.

The Shadow 3 was the lens mentioned by the president of an Osaka glass manufacturer, founded in the 1940s and responsible for making the lenses used in EYEVAN 7285, when asked which lens he was most proud of creating.

It is said that this lens, developed by Ray-Ban before the G15, possesses optical properties that are very well-suited to the human eye. Despite receiving requests from various brands to use this lens, it was only possible to reproduce it with a 2-curve, double-sided multi-coat because, as the manufacturer stated, "We believe 10 eyevan makes the best glasses in the world."

While the lenses appear green, when worn, the field of vision is not noticeably green. The double-sided multi-coat allows the eyes to be seen through the lenses from the outside, avoiding an overly intimidating look, and resulting in a classic yet stylish finish.

The designer states that these special lenses, exclusive to 10 eyevan, will not be used in EYEVAN 7285 in the future. In homage to the original, 10 eyevan will feature them under the name "G3."
