EYEVAN 7285, a brand rooted in vintage eyewear, old tools, architecture, nature, and paintings, creates products using the most ideal technology and production background. Its direct predecessor is EYEVAN CRAFT, a high-end collection launched in the 1980s.
As previously mentioned in journals about the originals, some of which Oliver Peoples still offer with almost identical designs, and about EYEVAN CRAFT produced in France and the UK, these pieces are part of a rich lineage.
This time, we are introducing a round-shaped frame with clip-on sunglasses from EYEVAN CRAFT, and a teardrop-shaped frame from the COUTURIE line.
True to EYEVAN CRAFT's style, the round frame features intricate details that were highly sophisticated for its time, including engravings on the bridge and temples, milgrain detailing on the rim of the clip-on sunglasses, and even the original EV logo on the nose pads. This meticulous attention to detail is a clear precursor to the current EYEVAN 7285. The generously proportioned round lens shape also adds to its originality.
The teardrop frame comes from the COUTURIE line, which was positioned as a high-end collection for gentlemen and ladies at the time. This frame also features the original EV logo on the nose pads, and the same logo is intricately engraved all around the rim.
This is reminiscent of the "IOIO..." engraving on the inside of the 10 eyevan rim. Instead of simply arranging the letters EV, the logo is designed by alternating inverted and upright EV combinations, resulting in a more artistic and seamless decoration.
What all the models we've continuously introduced share is not only their status as valuable vintage pieces within the lineage that connects to the current EYEVAN 7285, but also their enduring quality and sophisticated design that remain timeless even today.
Please come and see them in store.
