New Models from 10eyevan No.2 / No.6

10 eyevan is designed on the principle that beautiful tools are collections of beautiful parts. As such, it has never indiscriminately expanded its design variations, but has instead steadily added only those models it genuinely believes to be beautiful.

Currently, 10eyevan uses 8 lens shapes, from No.1 to No.8, and offers 4 frame types: metal, rimway, celluloid, and browline. Naturally, lenses come in various sizes, and frames in different thicknesses and colors.

However, not all combinations of these are available as products. For example, some lens shapes are only used in celluloid frames. The spectacles of 10eyevan are designed under truly strict constraints.

From 10eyevan, two new models will be released simultaneously. These new models, combining No.2 and No.6 lenses with slender celluloid frames, are new standard models that are very much in the 10eyevan style.

This is the first celluloid frame for No.2. The unique lens shape blends seamlessly with the frame in a remarkably exquisite balance. It is unlike anything else, yet it doesn't overpower the wearer. This pair embodies the best of 10eyevan.

First, the No.2. This model combines a lens shape that has been available in metal frames since the launch of the 10eyevan brand with a slender celluloid frame. Until now, the No.2 lens shape was only available in metal and rimway, making this its first celluloid frame.

The No.2, with its somewhat linear yet rounded polygonal impression, is a lens shape that pairs so well with metal frames that it's hard to imagine it combined with other materials.

By attaching parts like the endpieces at the base of the temples and the bridge connecting the lenses to the upper part of the lenses, the unique lens shape and celluloid frame of the No.2 blend seamlessly.

The front design, which feels subtly linear and sharp within its rounded impression, makes it a versatile pair that easily suits even those who typically only wear square frames. It has a broad appeal precisely because it is unlike anything else. It comes in two sizes: 45 and 47.

The slender celluloid of the No.6 features a distinctive, well-defined front design that is uniquely 10eyevan, not just a simple pantos. While based on a crown panto, the rounded corners give it an impression that is not overly linear. It is a pair that suits everyone, being neither ordinary nor excessively individualistic.

The other model is No.6. No.6 is a lens shape with a wide range of options within 10eyevan, and celluloid models with thicker frames, such as fat rim and bold rim, already exist.

Actually, the slender celluloid No.6 was a limited edition model that I myself planned and released when I was the store manager of EYEVAN 7285 Tokyo in my previous role. At the time, it was a limited model and couldn't be included in the inline collection, but due to positive feedback from customers and retailers, it has now been re-released as an inline model.

The base design is a so-called crown panto, but to make it easier to wear, obvious corners have been eliminated in this model. While it may appear like a Boston at first glance, the top line characteristic of a crown panto creates a sense of contrast, resulting in an exquisite balance. It is available in two sizes: 44 and 47.

Furthermore, this time we are also offering a lineup of new colors and limited edition colors. The two types of sasa (bamboo leaf pattern) have a modern impression rarely seen in vintage, and the khaki sasa, in particular, uses deadstock celluloid fabric newly discovered at the factory.
The INK, with its very delicate matte finish, is a limited color available only at direct stores and AFTER. Only the outside of the frame has a matte finish, so the contrast with the glossy inside, characteristic of celluloid, is refreshing.

When I reflect on 10eyevan, I realize there are no other eyewear brands with similar values. Unlike the thousands of yen glasses flooding the market or excessively decorative luxury brands, no other brand minimizes ostentation while completely uncompromising on lens shape, material, and design.

10eyevan is the only eyewear brand that can truly be called "quiet luxury," in that it doesn't assert itself but instead enhances the inner charm of the wearer. The two new models released this time undoubtedly embody this value perfectly.

Both No.2 and No.6 will be released today, December 15th, with INK following in early January. Please try them on in-store.
